The Area, Biggin by Hartington in The Peak District National Park

Homestead Barn is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area the Tissington Trail can be seen across the fields and is a short walk away. The trail for walkers and cyclists runs for thirteen miles from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay where it joins the High Peak trail, also from Hartington the trail connects to the Penninine Bridleway this network provides miles of walks through the spectacular Peak District.

Another local walk explores the beautiful Biggin Dale a limestone nature reserve that that leads to the riverside paths of the River Dove and onto the Wolfscote and Beresford Dales.

The Peak District market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton are a short drive away, along with the stately homes of Chatsworth and Hadden Hall.

Local pubs and restaurants, the village pub The Waterloo is a short walk away, next door Biggin Hall restaurant is open to non-residents, Carriages Bar and restaurant at Newhaven is also walking distance. There are also several village pubs a short drive away.
